W założeniu organizatorów konferencja ma mieć charakter interdyscyplinarny i w znacznej mierze pionierski. O ile bowiem temat rewolucji technologicznej jest szeroko obecny w dyskursie naukowym i publicystycznym, o tyle rzadko zwraca się uwagę na jego implikacje kulturowe. Tymczasem różne systemy wartości i kultury polityczne zupełnie inaczej postrzegają zachodzące zmiany, co może rodzić nieporozumienia, a nawet konflikty. Zwłaszcza w kontekście europejskim i chińskim, gdzie po dwóch stronach znajdują się rywalizujące wizje rozwoju człowieka, daje się zauważyć napięcia w rozumieniu roli i miejsca technologii we współczesnym świecie. Stąd analiza tych zjawisk z perspektywy nauk humanistycznych i społecznych jest niezwykle ważna.

Podczas konferencji zostaną poruszone kwestie kulturowe, polityczne, medialne i etyczne. Warto jednak podkreślić, że konferencja będzie także przestrzenią wymiany poglądów między przedstawicielami wspomnianych nauk humanistycznych i społecznych z reprezentantami dziedziny nauk inżynieryjno-technicznych, w tym zwłaszcza informatyki. Pozwoli to na interdyscyplinarną i transdyscyplinarną dyskusję na temat, który wymyka się sztywnym ramom jednej czy drugiej dyscypliny naukowej.

Podczas konferencji planuje się referaty pogrupowane wg czterech paneli tematycznych, odwołujących się do doświadczeń europejskich i chińskich w aspekcie rozwoju technologicznego:

●       Europa i Chiny: rywalizacja czy partnerstwo strategiczne

●       Etyka wobec rozwoju sztucznej inteligencji

●       Wpływ AI i nowych technologii na politykę: doświadczenia europejskie i chińskie

●       Media i dziennikarstwo w świecie ChatGPT i DeepSeek

●       Europa między Chinami a Stanami Zjednoczonymi

Zaproszenie do udziału w konferencji kierujemy do przedstawicieli różnych dziedzin i dyscyplin nauki, zainteresowanych dyskusją nad kulturowymi aspektami rozwoju technologicznego. Opłata konferencyjna dla osób występujących z referatem lub chcących wziąć udział w sesji posterowej wynosi 600 zł. W ramach opłaty organizatorzy pokrywają koszty noclegu (dwie doby) oraz wyżywienia podczas dwóch dni konferencji, tj. 10 i 11 czerwca 2026 r.

International scientific conference

According to the organizers’ concept, the conference is intended to be interdisciplinary and, to a large extent, pioneering in character. While the theme of the technological revolution is widely present in both academic and public discourse, relatively little attention has been paid to its cultural implications. Different systems of values and political cultures perceive the ongoing changes in markedly different ways, which may generate misunderstandings and even conflicts. This is particularly evident in the European and Chinese contexts, where competing visions of human development create tensions in the understanding of the role and place of technology in the contemporary world. For this reason, analyzing these phenomena from the perspective of the humanities and social sciences is of crucial importance.

The conference will address cultural, political, media-related, and ethical issues. It should be emphasized, however, that the event will also serve as a forum for exchange between scholars from the humanities and social sciences and representatives of engineering and technical sciences, particularly computer science. This will enable an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary discussion of a topic that transcends the rigid boundaries of any single academic discipline.

The conference will feature presentations organized into thematic panels referring to European and Chinese experiences in the context of technological development:

• Europe and China: rivalry or strategic partnership

• Ethics in the face of artificial intelligence development

• The impact of AI and new technologies on politics: European and Chinese experiences

• Media and journalism in the age of ChatGPT and DeepSeek

• Europe between China and the United States
  
  

We invite representatives of various fields and academic disciplines who are interested in discussing the cultural aspects of technological development to participate in the conference. The conference fee for presenters or participants wishing to take part in the poster session is 600 PLN. The fee covers accommodation (two nights) and meals during the two days of the conference, i.e., 10–11 June 2026.

Papers presented at the conference will be published in a scientific journal included on the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) list.
